The Irish Counter was created in 1987 by the Brest-native company Fourniership, specialized in the fuelling of ships. The history of the Counters starts with the decline of a grocer traditional belonging to the parent company and located on the wearing of Brest. Fourniership then opens a shop specialized in the Irish products: the first Irish Counter is born in Brest.
